Kvasnosky's first foray into novel writing is a lovely tribute to the transformative power of summer vacation. By looking at the notebook illustrations done by her charming protagonist, Steven Bennett, readers can get the sense of the change in interests that accompanies growing older—not to mention the bond people can share with animals!
