I kept feeling there is something missing in the plot ...
but there are 3 quotes that i liked ...

no one knows for certain who is friend and who is foe .
If it is war , it does not matter when it is . There is always going to be a battle.
No more slaughters ! Let us break our weapons , our mold of mind god in heaven , give us courage to sacrifice something besides our children .

After reading the author's poem "Where I'm From," I discovered this book on the shelves of our library. The thought of stepping back in time has been one I've often contemplated as a historical researcher and a lover of science fiction. For a time travel book, the plot is very quiet . During a civil war reinactment with her parents, the main character is given the part of Eliza the angel of the battlefield. After donning Eliza's clothes she is contacted by Elizas spirit who begs for more supplies. In a humorous bit, She convinces her best friend to help raise money to buy them, by wearing girl scout uniforms and going door to door collecting for hurricane relief. All this happens in a week.

Recommends it for: anyone
Time travel, adventure, KY History, American Civil War, Ghosts, Nurse.
Great book takes you to a lesser known skirmish/battle in KY History.
This battle is after Richmond and leads into the Battle of Perryville, 1862.
Well written.
Made me think I was there.

Quick read, but I had some problems with the action/consequences part of the novel. I did like the use of Kentucky and Civil War history though, so I gave it five stars. :)
