Great textbook on Phals. Will be especially useful when trying to determine the names of my "no-ID" phals. Also has very detailed, very specific cultivation needs for each subgenus and species.

Excellent! If you love the species phals, you will find this text indispensable. All the species are listed, along with their origins, growing conditions and particulars, descriptions, all the pariculars. Well worth tracking it down.

Though technical in nature, this excellent book by the late Dr. Christenson was many people's first exposure to many increasingly popular Phal species. Controversially it's the book that eliminated the genus Doritis...whether you agree or not, it's worth reading the explanations.

This is a highly technical book that is definitely not for beginners. If you want an excellent grasp on orchid taxonomy and history, though, look no further.
