Very Helpful

Of all the painting books I've read this one has a nice assortment of information for all acrylic students. It's a good one to refer back to. I have lots of bookmarks to refresh my memory as I need to.

I have many of her books, but I've so far gotten the most artistic mileage out of this one--and out of whatever I can get from any of her books w.r.t. landscapes. She breaks down the landscape elements really simply, and her painting instructions there have actually helped me with digital painting too.

I'm always on the verge of giving up even attempting landscapes because I struggle with them more than with anything else. I just struggle less when I do a re-read of Hammond's instructions. I wish

Uses acrylic for realistic paintings. Concentrated on painting portraits, and skimmed most of the other content. Have to go back and study more sections.
