Tired of London, Tired of Life: One Thing a Day To Do in London
As the late great Samuel Johnson sagely observed, 'When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life.'
When author Tom Jones found himself doing the same things week in, week out while living in England's treasured capital, he decided to heed Johnson's words and seek out a thing to do each day in London to make him fall back in love with the city.
Here, in Tired of London, Tired of Life, Tom shares the fun, diverting and imaginative things that you can do to keep yourself amused in London. With seasonally appropriate suggestions for each day of the year, you can explore East London by canoe, search for Fagin's lair in Clerkenwell, play petanque in Southwark, seek out Aphrodite in the British Museum on Valentine's Day and enjoy a host of unusual ways to enjoy the capital. So grab your A-Z and start discovering a whole other side to this majestic city.

A delightful little book of things to do in London.
Found several things that weren't on my list for London later this year. Am intrigued by the ride up the Regent's Canal. Sounds like heaps of fun.

Used to own this book while living in London..loved it and used it a lot! Got it back after 7 years away, out of nostalgia and it is just as good! A few addresses are outdated (place closed, museum moved, etc.) but overall still a pleasure to read through.

Great book with ideas for everyone to explore London.

With a wide panel of activities proposed, this book is very informative about London and its history. My only negative critique is the shortfall of pictures and illustrations that makes the book a bit plain.

A book for any Anglophile.
A lot of interesting alternative / less-touristy activities for people who visit London to engage in.
A guidebook for those who have already taken the trodden paths in London.

I was given this as a Christmas present by the lovely Welsh lady I worked with who took the poor Australian into her home over Christmas and even put presents for her under the tree.
It's a beautiful little book and has some great suggestions in it for all different people. I had a great time looking at different friends' birthdays and seeing activities that really suit their personalities which was cute.
The art is cute, the colour is great, and it's something I take out and have a look at before heading into London.

Lots of inspiration for places to visit, some well-known, others a little more obscure. Laid out day by day with suggestions appropriate to the seasons this is a useful and interesting read.

An interesting book that details many parts of London that you otherwise may normally miss. The book is divided into months where a daily activity/visit is suggested. Nicely illustrated.

This is a day by day guide to the sights and experiences of London from the main museums and tourist spots to the hidden gems that make up the heart of the city from it's cafes, pubs and restaurants to its bookstores, shops and markets. Jones has left space where you can add your own notes and to-do/to-visit lists just in case you find a gem or two that he's missed, although given how thorough this seems that may be a challenge in itself. Each entry is short and sweet to allow quick reference and quick decisions, giving its location, purpose and a bit of history with a few illustrations and photos thrown in for good measure too. I'm sure this will have something for everyone, Londoners included, the only flaw is that I can see it being a little awkward to carry around on your sight-seeing tour.

This book must be around 10 years old now but lots of the stuff is still available to enjoy. It's nice that some of the less glamorous parts of London get a look in although this is predominantly one for people who like to hang round inside the Circle Line (one day Kilburn/ Willesden/Harlesden/Cricklewood will feature in a book that has London in the title!) Still, I turned over lots of pages in the hope that I'll make the time to visit some of these places. Well done Tom Jones for putting in the effort, I enjoyed it a lot.

I started reading this just as I moved from London - d'oh! But it's got some fun ideas (many I've done, phew) and I'll keep it for future ideas when guests come for a visit.

This is a nice book for those who want to know all the hot spots in London, but some of those might be rather disappointed because they have to look up the spots by website if they want to know more details. For me, it is easy to read about one spot every day.

Another 'bedside book' basically gives you a tip a day on what do do/visit in London...useful for both the long time resident or someone who wants to do something different to the normal tourist trail...

So much to do in London that I didn't even know about. Fun book to look through before you go. Gives you great ideas of what to see and how to plan it out.
