I found this book to stand out amongst the many I read, because it addresses an issue that affects many people on different levels that require a common goal: inner peace. With the setting in Israel and the martial arts training, many philosophies combine into bringing the story from a traumatic past into a peaceful present. While the audience is relatively specific, the message rings strong and clear, and inner peace is something to strive for and treasure for everyone. I highly recommend this ...more

This is a very different book. I loved it and yet it doesn't lend itself easily to description or a specific reason why I loved it. I think it reminded me of many similar stories, The Karate Kid, The Richard Bach books, The Shack. At times it read easily as a story, but at times it was so eager to make its point that it became awkward and preachy and more sermon than story.
