This book has an interesting premise but is somewhat unsatisfying. There are many interesting tidbits of information and interviews, but overall the book is somewhat meandering, losing focus away from the hypothesis of the title.

Three things surprised me. First, a number of the interview subjects do not come off very well, using language and expressing views that are not consistent with how they have previously come across in public. I have to wonder if some of them would not be too happy with

It really doesn't explain anything. It's interesting but not great. I think you need to be a real hockey fan to enjoy it.
