Ann hates the house she grew up in. It is filled with memories of a difficult childhood. When her mother's stroke brings her back to the place, she wants nothing more than to put it - and her entire past - behind her. This was a good short story. Sometimes it takes another person to help you see things as they really are, not as you remember. Memories can be tainted by the past and the pain that doesn't quite go away.

Very short story but very well written. It had meaning and a lesson learned... For what it's worth I liked it...

This was okay. It was a short story which it states but it was just too short. It had the makings of a good story though.

Goodbye home

A poignant story of a hard upbringing, love, interracial marriage, hate, and the care for a mother. A good read...
Actually, I read this tonight in about 20 minutes. I would really like to see this turned into a full length novel. I would love to get the story on Ann's childhood growing up in this house.

It wasok fora short story ... wish it had gone on a bit longer and gave a few more details into her not-so-good childhood.

This was good. I just wish it were a lot longer than it was. It had the potential of a really great story but it was so short I read it in about 30 minutes.

Not a bad short story, though due to the length, it's bursting at the seams with way too much description and too much sentimentality.
