'Child of the Theatre' by Caleb takes place in a microcosm of life in London in the late 1800s which is peppered with references to gentlemen's clubs, life in the theatre, costume, architecture, and most of all, attitudes, particularly those of the upper class. It's written in quaint, romantic prose giving it a historic feel and adding theatrical flair. The brief, but meaningful, tryst between Sim and Gervase brims with emotion and passion. really great book! the romance was sweet, and there was zero gay angst!! just two hot gay guys having a good time and dealing with minor family drama and the hazards of being a naval officer. my only complaint is that I wish there was more!!
