Alex (Lexie) Marshall has wanted to cycle the TransAmerica Trail for a very long time. Now she's found the perfect riding partner in Tom Geiger. Tom isn't keen on having a partner, but since his sister has set it up, what's a guy to do? Tom will do the right thing and start off the biking trek with this guy Alex, but as soon as he finds another riding partner for him along the way, Tom plans on ditching Alex Marshall.

This is a very good contemporary romance debut. Absolutely loved the different

Ride With Me was quite the journey, LITERALLY, and I enjoyed it a lot. It’s a steamy romance where our hero/heroine meet on a cross country bike ride across the U.S . on the Trans-America Trail.

This is the journey Tom & Lexie went on:
Oregon --> Idaho --> Montana --> Wyoming --> Colorado --> Kansas --> Missouri --> Illinois --> Kentucky --> Virginia

This is the journey the readers went on:
Not With Me! --> Fight With Me --> Talk With Me? --> Not With Me --> Sleep With Me! --> Come With Me! -->
This book took me on quite a ride. It was smart, funny, engaging, and very sexy!

I love a good road trip romance, and I haven't read a great one for a very long time. The wait is over....Ride With Me was awesome.

Tom Grainger was excited to get outdoors into the open country and tackle the TransAmerica Trail, a 4,262 mile cycling event that begins in Astoria, Oregon and ends in Yorktown, Virginia. Unknown to him, his sister advertises for a cycling partner to ride with him. She is concerned for hi

Sometimes I'll read a new-to-me author and wonder what the heck is wrong with me? Why did I wait sooooo long, when I've seen nothing but raves about their writing? Well, I'm doing that now - questioning and kicking myself - and this time the author is Ruthie Knox.

Well, this is one heck of a debut, I'll say that! What an adorable, funny, sexy, well-written story!

I'm not much at all for bicycling, and didn't know what I would ultimately think of Ride With Me. But, wow, way to go, Ruthie Knox! I felt like I was seeing America on the backs of Tom's and Lexie's bicycles right along with them. This was a lot of fun, and a nice change of pace!

4 Happy Stars!
A beautiful and scenic romance. I had a wonderful time with the story, the studly Hero and the cute-as-a-button heroine.

When I grow up I wanna be exactly like Sexy Lexie. She was so determined on cycling her way across the TransAmerica Trail that she even invented an imaginary husband so that her cycling companion would agree to take her on. And I just lurved how Tom was all jerk like in the beginning. You just can't help anticipating the moment when he'll wobble his jackass self at Lexie's fee

This is a "Good Read". I really, really liked it.
Not sure what this says about my reading lately, but I liked this book as much for what it didn't have in it as much as what it did have in it.

It did have a great road trip across the US.
It did not have a complicated angst-ridden storyline. Great when you need an easy, breezy breather.
It did unfold in a way that kept me turning pages wanting to know the scoop.
It did have characters I liked. I wanted to see them happy and together.
It did not have

I enjoyed this book, it was a fun contemporary read. The hero at the start was an anti-social hermit, angry at life and hiding. There was a time he had it all, a corporate career, wife but then he testified against his father's company, found out his wife was cheating on him with his brother and was left angry, hurt and bitter. So, he isn't happy that his sister has managed to find him a riding partner for the TransAmerica Trail and to his shock he finds out his partner is a woman.

Review of Ride With Me by Ruthie Knox

There are a lot of reasons I don't love contemporary romance. Too much reality. Recycled plot ideas. Lack of excitement. The ones that resonate with me usually have a real sweetness to them. Very romantic moments. I don't care about the sex as much as the love connection, baby.

Unfortunately, when I first read the blurb for this book, I thought to myself.....I'm never gonna read it. It just wasn't appealing to me. But because a lot of folks were chatting about

I think I have found another new favorite author in the Contemporary Romance genre. I really really have enjoyed Ms. Knox's books.

In Ride with Me, We meet Alex (Lexie) and Tom. Tom has a past that has influenced who he has become when we meet him...

"Taryn, I'm 35, single, tattooed and antisocial. I'm the serial killer."

Tom is not a people person and that's keeping things light. He's a suit, working as a bike mechanic, where he doesn't have to deal with people and the possibility of being recog

Content: Cussing, profanity, explicit sex. No violence.
Spoiler Free!! Commendations: Great story! I was absorbed from the beginning. The characters, Tom and Lexie, seemed authentic and likable. I laughed out loud several times, but mostly in the first third of the book. I also reflected on Thoreau's Walden Pond, reading the excerpts right along with Tom and Lexie. Also, I enjoyed the unique setting, riding bike from Oregon to Virginia, stopping along the way in Yellowstone, Steamboat
Huh. Would you look at that? The rating system goes up to five stars. I had no idea...

Tom Geiger is ready to cycle across the United States on the TransAmerica Trail. Planning to start in Oregon and ending up in Virginia, he is looking forward to a couple of months of peaceful cycling and sightseeing as he heads east. But his sister, Taryn, has other plans for him. Worried that he is too much of a loner, she secretly places an ad for a riding companion for him and finds someone named Alex. She arranges for Alex to meet Tom at the starting point of the trip, much to Tom’s dismay. ...more
What a happy surprise! 'Ride with Me', the debut release by a talented Ruthie Knox, was super fun, super sexy and just plain great!

Knox takes the well-loved enemies-to-lovers romance formula and uniquely sets it on the TransAmerica Trail. After dipping her cycle in the Pacific Ocean, Lexie Marshall embarks on a west-east continental bike tour with the gruff, rude and more than reluctant to bike with her Tom Geiger as partner. Beyond irritated to have to "babysit" Lexie, Tom makes it clear he wan

Fast paced contemporary romance. This is a road trip romance where the hero and heroine start out as strangers and fall in love while bicycling across the US. The characters were believable and interesting. The bicycling elements were well done and interesting. Good conflict and conflict resolution. The sexual tension was very good and the dialog was pretty good. There were some bits of action and dialog at the beginning that seemed childish but that smoothed out pretty soon and the book was an ...more

5+ Stars - Keeper

This was such an incredible surprise! I absolutely LOVED this book, it was such a fantastic read and I never wanted it to end. Tom and Lexie were wonderful together and the author really made me feel like I was on the 4,000 mile bike trip with them!

Their relationship progressed naturally and when they finally got together - HOLY SMOKES - those scenes were HOT.

This book had all the things I love about a "keeper" romance, angst ridden hero, strong heroine, humor, steamy sex and a

I'll start with a confession: when I read the premise of Ride with Me I had reservations: how could a story about bicycles and riding crosscountry be romantic and exciting? I had serious doubts, but as the last LoveSwept title I read was fantastic I put my faith in them and boy was I blown away!

Ride with Me is terrific!! Ruthie Knox's fluent and engaging writing gripped my attention from the start and I devoured the book in no time. You want to know why? Because the colourful and well developed

I'm not surprised I enjoyed this book. I was pretty sure I would after reading several reviews. So I picked it up when I was feeling under the weather thinking I was getting a light, humorous, sexy contemporary to make my yucky day better. Well, it's sexy, contemporary, and at times humorous, plus it definitely made my day better, but it wasn't the "light" read I was expecting. That's not to say it was dark and heavy, but the books has real depth to it

Looooved it! I had a blast going on the cross country adventure with these two. They were an unlikely pair in the beginning, but I loved watching them butt heads before slowly opening up and becoming a couple. The dynamic was great, the tension hot, and the writing smooth. What more could a girl ask for? ;)

This was one of those books were I fell for all the hype. After seeing so many of my go to bloggers fall in love with it, I decided to take a chance on it. Ride with Me by Ruthie Knox had me right up until the very end of the book. I can't remember the last time I was so disappointed with an ending, but more on that later.

I have to say that I didn't think a bike ride across country could be so entertaining. I loved the chemistry between Tom and Lexie

3 ½ stars. Above average. Kept my interest. But the ending was abrupt.

This was different for a romance novel. I liked the idea of a cross country bike ride. I liked the idea of Tom - angry, withdrawn, hermit of a guy. He had to see into his problems, accept things, and come back to life. That process was interesting. Lexie was a good influence. She would get mad at him, stick to her guns, and then not speak to him for a week or more, until he apologized or whatever was appropriate. She did this

Update: Rebeca and I finally posted our joint review on Clear Eyes, Full Shelves.

(Sorry it's not more conducive to pasting into GR, but it's back and forth-style and I don't feel comfortable posting someone else's writing on my own review space on Goodreads.)

Rebeca aka Renegade and I are going to do a joint review of this one on the blog, but it's super fun, despite that I have some issues with a couple of things. A very fun romance akin to Shannon Stacey's Kowalski books.

Fabulous debut! Grumpy hero (who warms) uptight heroine (who lets loose) smart writing and real dialogue, charming travel details that don't make you feel like someone's forcing their research down your gullet, plus: hot sex in a tent, hot sex in a fancy hotel room, hot sex in a skeevy hotel room, and the perfect happy ending for the characters. Well done, Knox!

Tons of fun! The heroine I loved right from the start. The hero, I had to warm up to. He's such an ass early on, but once we get to know him and he gets to know Lexie, I liked him more and more as the story went on. Would have loved an epilogue to see where they ended up, but the ending was still very satisfying.

The author of this book is my niece:). Even if it wasn't written by my niece, I would think it's a great read--how can you miss with humor, sex, and a bike ride across the country? (I read the manuscript before it went to publication.)

I loved this one and got exactly what I was looking for. It was a fun and easy read and I will definitely go on to read more from Ruthie Knox.

Lexie wants to ride the cycle TransAm trail so advertised for a cycling partner. Tom was also riding the transAm and unfortunately for him, his sister thought it was time for him to move on and start living his life again. She emails Lexie pretending to be Tom and then at the last minute springs it on him that he has a riding partner. Needless to say he wa

I smiled on the first page and the last, and laughed, blushed and held my breath in between. The plot is fresh but familiar. The characters are flawed but lovable. And the romance, though you can feel the inevitability in their first conversation, is compelling and sweet. I loved this book, but something about it, even while I was reading it and immersed in the book - it felt like a shared experience, because it's just so accessible. It's so "yes, yes! USA Today bestselling author Ruthie Knox writes contemporary romance that’s sexy, witty, and angsty—sometimes all three at once. Her debut novel, Ride with Me, is probably the only existing cross-country bicycling love story.
