Dies ist meine persönliche Meinung. Meine Meinung wurde nicht gefälscht. Alles was ich schreibe kommt von mir. Falls Du das Buch lesen möchtest, bitte ich dich, bei den Buchhandlungen deines Vertrauens oder bei den kleineren zu kaufen. Sie brauchen unsere Unterstützung. Dieses Buch habe ich auf Youtube im Gelesene Bücher August vorgestellt. Schaut gerne darin vorbei. Freue mich auf Euren Besuch
Laura ist glücklich und 3 Jahre mit ihrem Freund zusammen, nachdem sie gegen Borborn und das Böse gekämpft hatte. Das war vor drei Jahren. 3 jahre sind vergangen und bislang nichts passiert. Zum Glück. Laura hatte andere Dinge im Kopf und diesmal ist sie fast erwachsen. Nichts ahnend, das auf dem Friedhof 4 Jugendliche den Dämon erwecken und unter seiner Macht stehen. Denn es gibt ein Festival, das eigentlich in England statt finden sollte, aber als man erfuhr, was die bösen vor hatten wurde es verlegt. Die Wächter glaubten, das die bösen in Ravenstein nix im Schilde führen. Doch Laura kämpft für das Licht. Ich hatte beim letzten Band ehrlich gesagt keine Erwartungen gehabt an diesem Buch und konnte mir nicht wirklich vorstellen was in dem Buch passiert. Klar, man müsste den Klappentext lesen oder haargenau auf den Titel achten, aber ich hab es nicht getan. Ich wollte mich überraschen lassen.
Die Geschichte ist wie immer total spannend geschrieben. Diesmal ist es drei Jahre her, das irgend etwas passierte (Band 6) Anfangs war ich so ein bisschen skeptisch, ob der letzte Band die anderen mich genauso mitreisen konnte.
Wie bei jedem einzelnen Buch konnte ich nicht weiterlesen, weil die Geschichte so spannend war, das ich Angst um meine Lieblinge hatte, zu recht !! Der rote Faden war nicht verloren. Nach 7 Bänden habe ich endlich die Botschaft begriffen, in der Geschichte versteckt war. Die Geschichte ist spannend geschrieben. Peter Freund hat aus seinen „Laura Leander Bücherreihe“ ein Meisterwerk kreiert. Eines der besten, finde ich, nach Harry Potter. Ich konnte den einzelnen Figuren mitfühlen, und war immer drin dabei.
Das Buchcover ist nett gestaltet, wie bei allen Buchcovern hat der Autor sich Gedanken gemacht wie es auszusehen hat. Mir gefällt das Buchcover sehr.

Der letzte Teil der Serie ist leider nicht so gelungen. Die Handlung knüpft überhaupt nicht an die vorherigen Bände an und spielt 3 Jahre später. Eine Weiterentwicklung der Charaktere ist so gut wie nicht zu erkennen und die Story endet zu abrupt

I'm a HUGE fan of Peter Freund's Laura series. In fact, I bought the first book of the series in the first week after it's release in 2002. It cost me about two months of pocket money, and I loved the book to death.
I read all the books of the original series (6 volumes) and loved every one of them.

So when I found out that there would be a new Laura adventure, I just had to preorder it 6 months prior to its release date in winter 2011.
My anticipation was great and I was soooooo happy when I finally got the book. Giddy with excitement, I opened the book and started reading... and was super-disappointed.
I finally finished reading this book after nearly two years, and there's a reason why it took me so long: the storytelling was a jumbled mess of WTF.
The "plot" was simply awful: some demon thought of a genius plan to concquer the Guardians of Light once and for all. By letting his incredible minions of evil spread his influence through slobbery kisses.
WAIT, WHAT?!
So the author is trying to tell me that "evil" is a kissing disease? I was pretty sure it could have been a good joke in a parody novel, but REALLY?
That's just silly.
Plus, there was something else the author handled reeeeally badly.
The relationship between the 17-year old iron virgin Laura and her controlling but kind boyfriend Coolio.
Now, it always irritated me that Coolio was called Coolio, but that was when he was 12 or something. Children do give other children stupid names. But now he's what? 17? That's silly.
But let's just pretend the word Coolio never happened and go directly to the biggest problem of the book:
it tries to tell us the story of a "mature" Laura and fails pathetically. This book plays 3 years after Book 6, and I would have expected Coolio's and Laura's relationship to have progressed a little bit. But NOOOOOOOOOOOO.
Of course not.
Instead, they're still stuck on base one and trying to figure out whether to trust each other a tiny little bit, maybe. Coolio has huge issues about trusting his girlfriend, and he constantly bothers her with his doubts, silly needs, demands and other petty inquiries.
I don't remember him being as irritating as that before (I don't think he was), but if anyone actually treated me like Coolio does Laura, I would have broken up with him ages ago.
They've been dating for THREE YEARS, for crying out loud! Isn't that long enough to actually manage to communicate a tiny little bit? Isn't it?
The ease with which the two were separated by the demons plan of genius was baffling. Coolio didn't even let Laura explain herself. TWICE. There were people spreading nasty rumors about her that weren't true, and he just believed it.
After all this, I actually expected Laura to break up with him. Coolio was being a complete douche, he didn't trust her one bit, and relationships just don't work like that. But unfortunately, she didn't have the backbone to do it.
It didn't even cross her mind. Incredible! there she was, being treated like shit, and she just tolerated it with little to no comment. I'm sorry, but that's not the kind of heroine I can look up to.
The intrigue of the plot was equally lame: instead of being interesting and original, the plot was so ridiculous I wanted to throttle the stupid demon and his farce of an evil plan. I mean really? No one has ever been able to concquer the world by letting their minions kiss everyone silly. That's a fucking stupid idea.
Finally, the end was rushed and left most of the questions it posed unanswered. I do hope Mister Freund will write another book and make sure he gets it right that time.
The saving grace of the book and the ONLY reason why it doesn't get a 1-star rating is Pinky Taxus and her back story. Yes, her back story! We finally get it. And if the author had bothered to actually give poor Pinky more than 5 pages in the entire book, it would have been much better.

Das Buch war ziemlich spannend, aber das Ende war einfach viel zu schnell da. Keiner der Konflikte wurde richtig zuende geführt und da frage ich mich, was die dann in dem Buch überhaupt zu suchen hatten.
Diese Fortsetzung hätte nicht sein müssen, so lange nachdem die eigentliche Reihe beendet war. Ich fand, man merkt, dass nicht ganz so viel Herz oder Planung in diesen Teil gesteckt wurde, wie in die ersten 6. Außerdem hingen die ersten Teile alle miteinander zusammen. In diesem Band war es mehr so: hey erinnerst du dich noch an das und an dies? Aber wirklich kohärent war es nicht.

Die ersten 200 Seiten waren sehr dröge. Vielfache wiederholende Erklärungen der Geschehnisse der vorangegangenen Bücher. Hätte ich lieber gegen ein weniger schnell abgehandeltes, viel zu kurzes Finale (10 bis maximal 20 Seiten) getauscht.

October 30, 2014Dropping this after 104 pages. The writing style doesn't appeal to me at all anymore and I can't seem to get into the story. It's a pity because I used to love this series around age 12-14.
