La serie 7, protagonizada en cada volumen por siete personajes distintos unidos por una misión en común, se centra ahora en el tema de los piratas, para el que recoge a Jim Hawkins, protagonista de La isla del tesoro, y lo sitúa quince años después de los hechos de la novela de Robert Louis Stevenson, en una aventura que cambiará para siempre la vida del joven marinero.

The cast of Treasure Island get together on a reunion tour to find, I kid you not, Captain Flint's second treasure. It does get the characters introduced and off on the quest much quicker and more efficiently than the previous two books, wasting little time in introductions and preamble and being tighter-written and told in general. The art's better and there's a good rhythm to things with a measure of intrigue and double-crossings that work together with the genre. It had all the makings of a jolly pirate quest.

But the whole sequel thing just doesn't work. The whole premise of a pirate leaving behind two treasures is pretty implausible, and several of the old characters got messed around in the process - poor Doctor Livesey is just a drunk now (and in this telling was apparently a drunk even back during the original story) and Jim Hawkins completely reversed his stance about adventure. It could have been some unknown pirate's first and only treasure, and the characters could have been new ones to us, and it'd all have worked so much better. Every connection with the original book just gets in the way. Apart from maybe the final twist, and you could've done something similar with some new faces anyway.

Still, any time it was doing its own thing, it was doing it okay. Not quite two and a half stars but a little bit above two. Maybe we'll make it somewhere yet.

Tiré de l’œuvre de Stevenson "L’île au trésor", nous nous trouvons quinze ans plus tard avec sept pirates qui sont appelés à trouver le deuxième cache au trésor sur la même île. Mais c'est sans compter la présence d'un nouveau pirate un peu fanatique du pirate Flint, qui est à l'origine de la présence du trésor sur l'île. Parmi les sept, nous retrouvons notamment le jeune Jim Hawkins, qui n'avait qu'un dizaine d'année, mais qui est maintenant un capitaine de navire.

Avec un dessin plus minimaliste, et doté d'une palette de couleur très tournée vers les teintes kaki et marine, que ses frères de la collection Sept, c'est somme toute une belle aventure que nous proposent les auteurs.

Bastante malo. El guion parece que va de menor a mayor, pero se termina estancando y brinda un final sin sentido. Los personajes están medianamente desarrollados, pero quedan demasiadas aristas abiertas y mal gestionadas.
En cuanto al dibujo es excesivamente discreto. No tiene ningún momento en el que se destaque.
En resumen, una historia más... no vale la pena invertir mucho tiempo en su lectura.

C’est bon, mais rien de plus. Les images ne sortent pas de l’ordinaire et l’histoire suit bien sa route, quoi qu’à certains moments, il est un peu difficile de la suivre, car il y a plusieurs noms et il faut donc bien les retenir pour comprendre de qui on parle.
Encore une petite plot twist à la fin, mais rien de très gros.

Este volumen pertenece a la serie Siete, un proyecto muy original en el que cada tomo cuenta una historia distinta, dibujada y guionizada por autores diferentes, que reúne a siete personajes con una misión en común (Siete guerreras, Siete psicópatas, Siete ladrones...). En este caso, Siete piratas, dibujado por Tim McBurnie y escrito por Pascal Bertho y Jerome Lereculey, nos plantea una posible continuación del clásico de aventuras La isla del tesoro, escrito por Robert L. Stevenson. Quince años después de que los tripulantes de La Hispaniola recuperasen el tesoro del capitán Flint, un misterioso "patrocinador" reúne a varios de ellos para regresar a la mítica isla. ¿El motivo? Que parece ser que aún queda en ella algo por desenterrar...
