Listen to these on audio books. For some reason I couldn't add them as a new read to my other option.

Susan Erikson does an excellent job bringing the characters to life. She is one of the best audio narrators around. I enjoy them to pieces.

3 excellent police tales. Eve Dallas is extremely competent, and it doesn't hurt that she has her husband's tech skills and illegal equipment to dig out data she needs.

So there are about a million books (give or take) in the J.D.Robb "In Death" series. I am up to book #22 and have yet to read one that I did not like/love. Robb is an excellent writer with attention to detail, but not too much attention. The series takes place about 40 or so years in the future but the details of this future place (such as air boards and flying cars) are described in a non-distracting way. In other words the future is not a character in the books the characters are. The characters, by the way, are very three dimensional. I don't want to say too much about the characters or even the stories except that there is, in every book, a crime to be solved (Eve Dallas is a NYC cop after all) humor and sex. If you love a good detective novel and a strong female lead, you will probably love these books. Furthermore, the writing is solid which is a must no matter what the genre.

I completely am in love with this series! My only regret is that I can't find them all at my Libraries that I have access to! Specifically I'm looking for them in Audio books as I'm in my car a lot of the time in the day. I have one in my car, and I have a different one I listen to in my bedroom!

I give the overall series a 4. Some books are better than others, naturally. This is an omnibus version with five books. The series is best read in order, but it is not required.

Series gets better and better! Each book you get to know them a little more. Opening a new book its like coming home to characters you know.
