Take one guy who is thrilled to leave his poor roots behind and revel in his wealth. Take one woman who longs for the good old days when her family was happy, though poor, and who disdains their newfound wealth. Put them together and you get--instant chemistry? Do I believe in love at first sight? Not really, but I experienced something like that when I first met my late partner. Before I laid eyes on him, I heard his voice and knew I wanted to get to know him better. In this case, both our protagonists have a journey to realize they should be doing something more with their money than they are and to look back on their past with a clearer eye.

This was an OK book, good for being a Harlequin Temptation. The few sex scenes were well written and the characters were fully realized. It's the first in a series and, while it would be interesting to read the other books, I won't go out of my way. And this is from my TBR pile, discovered when I had to move everything in my bedroom to put in new flooring.

4 Stars! ~ Tracy's family has always struggled on the farm, until her Dad's inventiveness makes them very wealthy. She's still having trouble getting used to her new lifestyle. Paul comes from a humble background too. The teasing from the rich kids gave him the drive to succeed no matter what, and a huge chip on his shoulder. Now's he's pretty much got it made, and everything designer is at his fingertips.

Their electric moment happens on the beach behind Tracy's family summer cottage. Unfortunately, Paul makes an ass of himself for all the wrong reasons. Even though they get off to a very rocky start, that jolt of attraction only gets stronger. The tough part is getting over themselves. Tracy's everything old is still good attitude, and Paul's need to deny his background along with that enormous chip on his shoulder; all make for a very bumpy ride.

This was a fun read The chemistry between Tracy and Paul sizzles. I love the dialogue with Tracy and her friends ... those gals are a hoot! There were quite a few laugh out loud moments.

Fun story with witty dialog but heavy with pondering and I skimmed a lot so my rating is 3.5* Tracy feels an instant attraction to beach jogger Paul.
