Unbound by Emily Goodwin was a truly great and heart rending story about a girl named Anora.  She always felt different from most people in school while growing up.  After the death of her great aunt strange things start happening to her.  After breaking up with er boyfriend Mike she meets a very good looking older guy by the name of Ethan.  After almost getting killed by a spirt in a host body.  They end up finding out family secrets about each other and that brings them closer together.  Bewar ...more

If I had one word to describe this book it would be REPETITIVE. Anora basically repeats everything at least 3 times that has happened to her. So you read the same damn thing over at least 3 times.

The plot was boring, opaque and nauseating.

When Anora finds a deserted barn in the wood somewhere after going off with her boyfriend Ethan. Of course there are demons after her and ghosts so where else should she go.

Its exactly like the plot of a cheesy horror movie and Anora seems like the stupid gi

This is one great Paranormal Romance. This story is about a young witch who never knew she was a witch till her great aunt dies, that's where alot of things starts to appear and try to kill her. I jumped so many times thinking OMG I would have ran away screaming in fear. Thank God she has a hot demon hunter as her boyfriend (drool) I know I would feel safe with him around as well :D. Seeing ghost is one thing but having demons appear and try to kill you all the time, yeah I would have been hidin ...more

I only docked 1 star because some of the stuff involving this girls parents I found really hard to believe. Maybe they really are that "out there", but seeing as they are a doctor and a college professor, I wouldnt put money on it.

I really enjoyed this book. I am a sucker for a strong female lead, and Anora had that is spades. She is a bad ass witch who isnt afraid to do what is necessary to kick some ass. I look forward to reading the next book in this series.

Emily Goodwin did an amazing job in writing her first book in "The Guardian Legacies series Unbound". If being a teenage girl in High School isn't hard enough, try being a teenage girl who happens to also be a medium and a witch in High School. Well Emily Goodwin takes us on Anora Benson's journey. This story will definitely tickle your paranormal senses. "Unbound" has everything we would want and expect with a few extras in a kick ass paranormal book. Witches, spells, Ghosts, ferocious wolf-lik ...more

This is another great book from Emily Goodwin. It's fun, it's exciting, and I can't wait to find out what happens next. I have no doubt that the next book will be up to my high expectations.
My only complaint is that the book feels unfinished, which is simply a risk with ebooks, I find. I completely understand that even when published by a large company, with multiple people doing numerous rereads, there is still a likelihood of typos slipping through. With ebooks, there tend to be more errors, a

Okay I have to say this was really good book. Super strong solid story that was riveting and captivating.
You can’t help but root for Anora and sigh because of Ethan. The story keeping you turning the pages wiling yourself to read faster so you can find out what happen.
I loved that the book held all the important pieces that make such a good read. Love, mystery, growth, fear, danger, jealousy, loss, courage. The plot unfolds beautifully. The story unique with its own twist.
It isn’t predictable b

Unbound is an excellent beginning to what seems to be a very promising series. Quick witted Anora Benson has never led a normal existence but after the death of her eccentric Great-Aunt Estelle, life as she knows it seems to take a turn from strange to extremely paranormal. She soon starts to realize that her Aunts eccentric ways may not have been just the senile ramblings of an elderly woman but actual knowledge and truth. When the mysterious Ethan Bailey walks into her life Anora learns that n

5 stars hands down! This book and the way it was written is absolutely amazing! I have to say, at first there were a few words I had to look up in the dictionary, but other than like, 3-4 words, and it was riveting! The way the story had its ups and downs, the rhythm of it was music and an absolute masterpiece. I had goose bumps as the story came to its climax. Would I recommend this? ABSOLUTELY! This book had me more involved than Twilight in the character, and more enthralled than Marked (A Ho ...more

I received a copy of this book from the publisher via Netgalley for a honest review.

After a slow start, I became highly entertained. There was just something about Ethan that I found very alluring.

Now I do think she has the most lenient parents. Before she started the spells, the kids really did what they wanted.

The ending was abrupt. There was nothing that hooked me to continue this series. It's a shame.
I loved this book. I love everything that Emily does really. She has a great story telling voice. I am so obsessed with this book and Reaper that I made a pinterest board for it. Yep, I'm a book nerd. ...more
This book was part of Magic and Mayhem: A Collection of 21 Fantasy Novels. This was not sold as a YA collection and the other book I've read so far was not YA. That being said, I am more than happy to enjoy a good YA novel but this felt not only like it was written strictly for teenagers but by a teenager.

The main character, Anora, discovers she's a witch and has demons after her. That kind of a setup is hard to pull off convincingly when the character is still in high school. All of the kids h

I liked this book. It was easy to devour but still made it feel like you were getting a lot despite the fast timeline. Nothing dragged, it was either exciting or lovey dovey. The drama was nice, but I seriously love how creepy it got. There was a time or two when I had to put my back to the wall just so I didn't feel so creeped out being alone! I'd recommend this. It got a little YA for me at one point but it was overall good. The ending definitely made me want to read the next book. ...more

Great Paranormal Romance

Anora has been able to see and hear ghost for as long as she can remember, she doesn't tell anyone anymore because they don't believe her.

*I knew he was coming. I could feel it. But my heart still skipped a beat in fear when the blonde haired ghost appeared just feet in front of me.
“I can’t keep you hidden for much longer,” he whispered. He looked at me, his eyes so fearful, he could have been staring death in the face. “She’s not who she says she is.”

I was torn on the rating for this one. On the one hand, it had beautiful cover art and an amazing story concept. I even found it hard to put down for about the first quarter of the book. But then, as much as I wanted to credit the positive qualities of the story, a few negative aspects began to weigh me down.

From the start, I was frustrated that I couldn't get a good feel for what this book wanted to be, and honestly, I began to suspect that the author wasn’t quite sure either. At times, the inn

When she finally has a boyfriend, she is devastated to overhear at a party that he just had a bet going to sleep with her. There was always sadness in his eyes, as if he was desperately waiting for something that would never come. He wasn’t threatening, like some of the other spirits I’d seen, and I’d seen a lot. I’d been a medium for as long as I could remember, being able to see and hear ghosts.

Anora has a secret, one that she's not sure anyone will believe...

She can see things that no one else can, and ever since someone in her life died, its gotten worse

I went into this book knowing that I would be writing a review for it. This said, at the beginning of reading the story I read while analyzing but as the story unfolded I lost myself within it. I eventually went back over the book again and read with a mind for critique. These are my thoughts.

The characters and the world that they belong to are incredibly believable. The characters and their lives (outside of the supernatural) are extremely relatable. I felt as if I could have been Anora. She wa

Unbound is another great work by Emily Goodwin. I was hooked on this one from the first page to the last page. I love how Emily draws you into the story and keeps your attention throughout the whole book!

Although I have so many books in the paranormal genre on my kindle, it's been a long time since I've actually read one (!) so I was looking forward to getting stuck into this.

At the beginning of Unbound we meet Anora who has always thought she was a little different as she could sense spirits but she's never really told anyone as they wouldn't believe her. She loves her pets and owns two horses, a dog (who is not what he seems), and a ferret; she regularly sees one of these spirits when riding

Paranormal. Sigh.. probably my favorite genre to read, when it is written good. Unbound is written perfectly. There is just enough real life in the story to make it realistic, while still having enough paranormal to make it fall into the genre.

I love when a young person comes into them self. That is what happens to Anora. She has always known she was different. She knew she could connect with dead, but she didn’t really know how special she was. I loved that she accepted what was happening to h

Unbound is an exciting new series by author Emily Goodwin. One of the things that really caught my attention about this book was the cover. It was eye catching and made me curious. Then, I read the synopsis and thought to myself, I need to check this book out and I’m happy that I did.

I was given this book for a review by the author and I promise it will be honest. This book was interlining. The plot was different, most of the characters were relateable and the romance was steamy.
The story starts off with Anora Benson who is just like every teenage girl, wants to be popular and have the super hot boyfriend. When we start off the story I found Anora mildly irritating because she was so shallow and just let people walk all over her. Personally I'm very assertive I tell people

its not easy to impress me when it comes to book (not that its easy in other things) i need a decent grammar decent amount of romance and oh yea if its paranormal it has to really be paranormal not just any witch or vampire or werewolf!!!
well let's write the review:

I became a fan of Emily Goodwin after I read her Contagium series. I picked up this book hoping I'd fall in love with these characters as well, and I wasn't disappointed.

You can definitely relate to Anora, high school is hard and all the girls are catty. So you can just image how hard it is for her when she has to hide her powers from those around her. It does get a little hard though when ghosts who look like they're alive and there are whispers in her ear. How do you know if you're talking to

How do you go about being a witch when you never knew you were one? That is the question Anora has to answer and fast because she has spirits and bounty hunters after her and she needs to learn how to use her powers – now.

Things supernatural don’t bother Anora, she’s spent most of her life trying to ignore the spirits or ghosts surrounding her. She thought she was a medium, no more than a conduit for those who pass on and want to communicate with the living. Now
