Very funny book. Great for the sixth or seventh grader in your life. Easy to feel badly for the main character, even if he does have the prettiest girl in school chasing him down. This book is engaging because it is predictable. We all seem to fall into the same traps that Brett does. The ending did catch me by surprise, though. A little bit of magic here, but no sex, drugs, or violence to be had. Just good, clean fun.

Cute, but very obviously 90's fluff children's fiction. It isn't a terrible book by any stretch of the imagination, but neither does it take a lot of thought to understand or concentration to read. However, it has its place in its fluffiness, and therefore it could find a place even on a modern shelf.

3/5 on here, 6/10 for myself

Although this book is meant for boys, girls would prefer reading it. Not many preteen boys will read a book about a girl falling in love with a boy for any reason. The book has a reading level of 5 and would be a good and read and for girls through middle school.
