Ultimately, to be blessed is to have the full, abundant, and ongoing life that only comes from God. "The Abundant Life Day Book" contains a year's worth of daily reminders of what it means to live in the abundance of God's blessing through Christ. The first thing I noticed about this book is how completely gorgeous it is on the outside and the inside. The cover is just beautiful with a textured feel to it and what looks like carvings in the leather-like feel cover. Then you open it and have more beauty on the pages. Sweet drawings on each page and then the gorgeous devotions that will completely bless your heart.

This book is written in the "Jesus Calling" style. The devotions are written from the point of view of the Lord speaking to us.

The whole cover of the book is beautiful. It looks like tooled leather and has a little butterfly on the front and back. There is a paper cover on the bottom part of the book that is meant to be removed after purchase.
This devotional has over 365 days of readings taking you through the
scriptures helping you to experience God and His intentions for you.
I have been reading once daily from this Devotional Day Book and have great inspiration and peace to lead me through the each day. I plan to con

The aesthete within me adores this little volume; while I am not partial to the electric green of the cover's butterfly, the texture and design of the exterior make up for this slight. The detailing on the outside is reminiscent of the Victorian wallpaper with all its gaudy embellishments, or like a binding for a William Morris story, though here the detailing is electric green and blind embossed; still the comparison holds. Inside the paper i

Have you ever observed one of those families where the parents are able to command outward compliance from their kids, but they've clearly lost the children's hearts? Everyone says "Oh, what nice children you have. So well behaved!" and yet the child secretly doesn't trust the parent, and doesn't feel the parents love. So the kid performs, but they don't know if it really matters; they don't know if their parent really sees or cares. There are few things more painful to see. You know that the re

Draw Near to God....

READ THIS ON MY BLOG: http://bookreadingtic.com/2015/12/30/...

Packed into this pretty little book, one will find a single page devotion for each day of the year. After the daily scripture, the devotional is written as if God Himself is doing the talking. Each page ends with suggestions to put what is read into action. The cover of this book is made of a leather-like material that is stamped with an intricate design of hearts, birds, and nature. It is soft to the touch, and pl

Full disclosure: free review copy received via goodreads.

This is one of those books that makes a great gift but, even better yet, it makes a wonderful Get Well/Get Better Card. I enjoy gifting books like this instead of giving flowers or cards that fade away.

I like that this book focuses on what God's word says about his blessings to the believer to bring us to a closer relationship with him instead of focusing on what's in it for us or delving into new age ideas like other so-called Christian g

With, Abundant Life, Day Book, Nancy Guthrie creates scripture based blessings for each day of the year. A prayer, drawn from the content and nature of the blessing, accompanies each entry, offering praise to God for his gifts and favor.
I admit to a lack of confidence with this review. Prior to reading Abundant Life, my experience rested exclusively upon fiction. However, I enjoyed reading the book. The structure, with the narrative being framed by scripture and prayer, proved quite effective, a

Won a copy through First Reads. Since it is a daily devotional I won't finish it until the years end, but so far am really liking it. The daily Scripture passages are always relevant. The cover is beautiful, and I like the attached bookmark. Recommend to anyone looking for a daily devotional that is more new and modern day.

Nancy and her husband, David, and son, Matt, make their home in Nashville, Tennessee, where they attend Christ Presbyterian Church (Presbyterian Church in America). After losing two infant children to a rare genetic disorder, Nancy writes books that reflect her compassion for hurting people and her passion for applying God's Word to real life.

In addition to teaching a weekly Bible class at her ch
