This book in one word? Disappointing.

I was determined to like this book. I tried, I really did. And by that I mean there came a point when I decided to just ignore any problems. To just try and enjoy it for what it was. Unfortunately even that didn't help. The heroine was a petulant selfish brat, the hero was an immature ass without a backbone, and the plot had more holes than a crocheted doily.

The Plot: Lady Madeline is a spoiled judgmental brat beautiful entitled heiress who is being hunted re

Confused? Well so am I.

Here I was expecting a brooding full blooded alpha werewolf instead I got Justin Bieber who is too busy mooning over a spoiled bratty confused overly-sensitive simpleton heroine way above his station. Match made in heaven maybe? Wes acts like a stammering insecure puppy around Lady Madeline, who bless her heart, is the definition of milquetoast--an incredibly naive one to boot. It takes her almost a yea

The Wolf Who Loved Me: Mr. Weston Hadley and Lady Madeline Hayburn

Three years ago Wes, spotted Lady Madeline across a ballroom and ever since he has been besotted. The few times he has been in the same room with Lady Madeline, he hasn’t been able to take his eyes off of her, too bad she hasn’t been able to look him in the eye. Wes knows that Madeline is WAY above his reach, but his heart just won’t listen to what his head is telling him. He will never ever

I have read Lydia Dare’s first 4 Westfield Wolves and I liked them. They have this interesting premise we don’t see too often in paranormal romance. Usually we see these dominant, very wolf-like men whose wolf gets as much page time as the man. In this series, the wolves (and their wolf-side) are more on the periphery of the novel.

This series deals more with the men behaving in polite society.

In this particular book, the hero Wes, his twin brother Grey, and his elder

Lady Madeline is very much a lady, a Duke’s daughter on the marriage mart. Her father has high aspirations for her, but to Madeline, none of her “suitable” suitors excite her. Mr. Weston Hadley interests her, but he is far from suitable. However, when Madeline stumbles across a scene she shouldn’t have, Wes feels there is no choice but to abscond with the lady and make her his wife to keep certain secrets safe.

I really enjoyed The Wolf Who Loved Me. Wes has always been attracted to Lady Madeline

Weston Hadley has been in love with Lady Madeleine for as long as he can remember, but she is so far above his station, he never dreams they could be a match. Not only is he strapped for funds and from a less noble family, he is also a werewolf --a closely guarded secret. Unfortunately, Lady Madeleine stumbles into his path one night as he changes into his wolf form. Fearful she will spill the family secret, he kidnaps her and heads to Gretna Green.

It doesn't take long for Maddie to fall for her

The Hadley men are rambunctious brats & totally uncouth when it comes to socializing. They come to live with theur half brother & after almost killing his kids in a race, they hire Madeline to turn them into gentlemen. She needs the $ & they need instruction.

After seeing Weston shift, he kidnaps Maddie & runs to scotland to get married so she will be forced to keep the secret. They are bing chased by her father the whole time. You run into more werewolves along the way & it'
I struggled throught the first two thirds of the book. I could not finish it. It became cookie cutter and immature. The hero had no backbone and the heroine was a spoiled grump. This series ends for me.

This series certainly has come a long way since the first book (A Certain Wolfish Charm) was released. I was very excited to read about the first of Dash's half-brothers who I found delightfully amusing, albeit a bit childish for grown men/lycans but I guess that was part of their appeal.

Weston Hadley is one of three penniless brothers who just so happen to be Lycans, and if that secret isn't bad enough, he's also secretly enamored of Lady Madeline Hayburn who's dowry has drawn almost every tit

Have I mentioned that I love Lydia Dare's books? Each new book is even better than the last. I love how even though this is a 'new series' for them, really all of the books by the authors are interconnected with the same characters.

I must admit that I've been looking forward to Weston's story for a long time, and this book really met and exceeded any unrealistic expectations that I might have had. Weston is one of the twin 'pups' that we've read about previously in the series. He and his twin, G

I think it might be one of my favorites, although I think Dash's book I liked a little bit more, but this installment had such character and personality to the story, that by the end of the book, you are left with satisfaction but wishing the story had never ended. The Wolf Who Loved Me is about Dash's younger brother, Wes.

Yes this is part of a series, but it can be just as well be read as a standalone since it is also starting a new trilogy. To make a long story short, first there were the 3 Westfield Brothers, then we had Dash who stood a bit alone, then we got 3 vampire books with the remaining witches and now we have 3 more brothers (related to Dash)and they will find love. I made it sound complicated didn't it? Anyway, it works on its on in the end.

We met the brothers in previous books and they are just rakes

The worst moment for Madeline involved her continuing need for baths. Wes finds himself unable to deny her simple pleasures. However, she had one scene where she had disguised herself against the enhanced senses of werewolves was a complete hoot! She has no idea what she's done but Wes does and he is torn whether to tell her or not. She was so pleased with her little plan but it went as wrong as a trick can possibly go. It's when she's about to step into her bath that Wes realizes he
This was very enjoyable. Well written with a plot that was enjoyable and made sense. The heroine was a young woman who happily made the best of her situation. A pleasant change from regency heroine who try to be fiery and fight the hero all the time. The hero had loved her from afar for 3 years until fate threw them together. The love story was very strong.

The reason I dropped it a star is because the werewolf part of it was under developed. We knew practically nothing about the werewolf world o

Lady Madeline Hayburn has a hefty dowry - which means every gentlemen of the ton is trying to catch her. Even her neighbor the ever wild Weston Hadley.

If you are a frequent visitor you know I love Dare's Regency lycans & vampyres. This installment is no different, I loved it. I'm glad we get to see more of the Hadley brothers, they are every bit as fun as the Westfield brothers. The Wolf Who Loved Me is an excellent read. I love that, though Maddie and Weston are quite different in class (or

I wasn't very keen on the poor heroine being humiliated every time she turned around, but in the end, it was a highly entertaining book no matter my dislike of certain plot devices.

I read this one out of order, but my impression is that this book, if not the entire series, is basically fluffy Regency romance with misbehaving male protagonists, all toned with a hint of werewolf. The concept is carried out most effectively in Dare's portrayal of the energetic, chaotic scuffling and play between the men of the pack, just like a pack of dogs. Unlike other reviewers, I'm totally fine with the fact that this isn't a whole series of brooding alpha tough guys. There are too many o ...more
The first half or so I enjoyed. I mean it's not a thriller or that but it was mindless entertaining fluff. The wolf aspect wasn't exactly prominent - although it was the catalyst for most of the events in the book. Wes was a pretty alright character if not a bit absent minded. He wasn't very alpha like - he was more puppy like. Madeline was kind of whiny and ridiculously naive. She started off smarter but she got dumber as the book progressed. The villain was an idiot and the whole plotline ther ...more
A pack of werewolves among Regency England's peers. I daresay that would astonish the ton and Prinny. Maybe even Napoleon.

I found this humorously implausible yet entertaining.

There’s that certain saucy something about those rapscallion Hadley men that makes a woman sit up and take notice while trying to act as if she’s not. Back in the day, women did not boldly ogle men no matter how devilishly handsome they might be. Instead they admired behind fans, in whispers and with covert glances. That’s the usual course but Lady Madeline Hayburn is far from typical, and that made her the perfect foil for Weston Had

Welcome to Regency-period England, where ladies are excitable and men are werewolves. The Wolf Who Loved Me kicks off the third set of books in Lydia Dare’s enjoyable paranormal/historical setting. The current series, dubbed the Hadley Brothers Trilogy, follows the three (secret) brothers of Lord Dashiel Thorpe, who was the hero from The Taming of the Wolf. The Wolf Who Loved Me is a “fresh start” to the overall series and can be read as a stand alo

With this new spin-off trilogy, Lydia Dare is giving readers more of her werewolves with the Hadley brothers, three rakes who get into trouble every chance they get.

I’m glad the wolves are back. I know Ms. Dare was trying to give readers something different with the last three books in the series that featured vampires. Those stories were good, but they just lack the flare of those werewolves that I’ve enjoyed so much from the beginning of this series. This time around we have some fun with the
