I used to watch Trading Spaces with my kids. This book was nostalgic for me. I miss the show! I always liked Paige and her sense of humor. I don’t know how she was able to do all she did! I don’t think I could live out of a suitcase all the time like she did. I liked the journal format and the photos.

Free little library pick! Not sure if I would have bought this, but I liked it for what it was. Wish it was written in a different style, not sure if diary entries so it for me in this instance

I'm not a regular watcher of Trading Spaces and have only seen 1 or 2 episodes in my lifetime. I think it was written fairly early in Paige Davis' television career, back when a lot of the reality home improvement shows were just starting to take off. So the reader gets to see what it was like working on such a show in the early days of its success. Yet this trait is also one of the book's handicaps. I think she had to write it in a way so Trading Spaces producers and execs would sign off on it.
The tone is overly positive and optimistic that it would never ring true as someone's real reflections about their job. I remembered thinking "How can she be that nice and effusive in praise to everyone all the time?" It would have been better balanced by additional stories about how the designers work with each other and instances when they really clashed.
The format is as a journal chronicling Paige Davis' second season on Trading Spaces. The pages are pretty, with many pictures and kind of looks like someone's scrapbook.

I got this book in a "bargain bin" I used to watch the show occasionally so I figured I'd give it a try.
I read it over a couple of days but you could probably read it in an afternoon if you had the time.
It was interesting to read all the behind the scenes stuff. From accidents that happen in set to the publicity they have to do for the show.
Even though the book us about 12 years old I still recommend it if you can get your hands on it.

A book that can be read in an afternoon. I enjoyed the look back at a show that was a favorite of mine when it was on TLC channel. Written in a diary format over a year's taping of the show it includes the answers to many questions like what happened if the people didn't like the design used for their home. It includes many photos.

My cousin Jeff worked on the Trading Spaces show for a few years, and he's pictured and mentioned in this book a handful of times! So I bought it for that reason, but I read the whole thing and it was pretty interesting to see all the behind-the-scenes stuff!

Written in diary style Paige takes you through a year of her life while working for Trading spaces. She also gives you peeks at her personal life. Fun, quick read.
