Though I think there is a massive over-saturation of these types of journal style books for kids this series is one of the good ones. The "Blogtastic" books are good silly fun that will be especially appealing to those young girls who a little bit awkward and silly and never seem to be quite cool enough.
In this adventure, our Blogtastic Blogger Sofia and her best friend Nona are shipped off to a summer camp whose claim to fame is America's first ever sighting of bigfoot. Sofia hopes this will be the place where she can start over and finally be one of the cool people... but her plan backfires almost immediately, when the massive hair bow she bought for the first day stains her entire head with dye. Even worse, she and Nona end up in different cabins (and of course Sofia ends up in the one with the worst name ever - the Gray Hairstreaks) and her counselor is the most uptight control freak ever and she makes a total fool of herself in front of the cutest boy at camp.
Rose Cooper's adorable illustrations do a lot to add a second dose of the humor to the light, snappy writing to create a story that, though it is complete fluff, is delicious fluff - the book equivalent of cotton candy.

Secrets from the Sleeping Bag by Rose Cooper - 4th/5th grade- Talk about camp pranks to the extreme... I chuckled my way through this read which is the third Blogtastic! novel in this series. I think it is a perfect fit for fans of Dork Diaries and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. I personally enjoyed how the main character faces repercussions for lying and isn't as sweet and innocent as some characters yet isn't malicious as well. I know students would love this series...

This is one of the best books I have ever read. I think the main character (Sofia) was super funny. There was nothing really wrong about this book in my opinion. I like how the book was very funny and I could not put it down.

It may be a girl book, but I wanted to try something different. An amusing story about a blogger who goes to camp, and boy does she have a lot to say. Sofia's frequent goofs, her cabin's pranks and her search for boys will be fun and interesting, even for non-females.

I received a copy to review by the publishers via NetGalley.

Sofia Becker has finished school and is excited to be seventh graders this upcoming year. This summer vacation she is going to Krakatow, a four-week long summer camp. With constant pleading, she convinces her best-friend, Nona, to come. Sofia was kind of made to go, so she’s glad that Nona will be there. She quickly changes her tune when she finds out that she isn’t in the same cabin as Nona. Not only that she’s stuck with Olivia, a mean girl, and the mean counselor she nicknames the Priss. Sofia opens her big mouth and causes a rivalry with another cabin. Will she be able to survive two mean girls, spending half the camp without Nona, and a cabin prank war?

It’s been a while since I’ve read the first one. When I saw this on NetGalley, I knew wanted to see what happened in this one, especially since it was going to be about camp. I liked this one, but I liked the first one in the series a lot more. I still like the drawings in this series. I think the drawings for Sofia and Nona are so adorable. Sofia had a crush in the past two books, and I’m glad another boy was introduced. I’m hoping he’ll be mentioned in future books.

This series is still a quick read, but still very enjoyable. I can’t wait to see what kind of trouble she finds herself in.

An enjoyable romp in the very believable voice of a seventh grade girl at camp. The journal/doodling format will appeal to reluctant readers. A good mix of those middle school social escapades, humor and a little bit about crushes on boys, but not so that it got in the way of a girl being a girl and discovering camp isn't so terrible after all.

The Blogtastic series has become very popular, as has the concept of young folks blogging. This "hard-copy", pre-blogging collection of notes, observations, reactions, and reflections are typically silly and entertaining but cast out nuggets of truth and insight that readers recognize.

Do NOT make a boy read this book. It's definitely for girls...tween or younger. It's basically a camp diary. Fairly cute. I got this book over a year ago in a giveaway at a conference I attended. Now it's up for grabs, who wants it?

The first half was very tedious, but the storyline became more engaging with the "pranked" storyline.

Sophia's off to camp where, horrors, there are no computers but thankfully she's bringing her trusty, pre-blogging notebook to record all her hijinks.

I haven't read the other books in this series, but I didn't adore it... It was just ok for me. Like the pictures and quick read, but had a hard time liking the main character.

See Book Two for review. There isn't really a review, there's not really a plot, there's more of a chronological setting than a plot setting.

I thought this book was a good end to the series. At first, Camp Krakatow sounded horrible, since Sofia kept rambling about all the bad things that kept happening. And I feel bad that she didn't get to be in the same cabin as Nona. But after everything that happened in the prank war between the Monarchs and the Gray Hairstreaks, I feel like Sofia became really close with all her cabinmates, including Olivia. I was also happy to hear that the Priss even joined in on the last prank. I know that Sofia had a list of rules for how you're not supposed to have multiple crushes, but I think that the camp was a great way for her to stop obsessing over Andrew. She and Jackson seemed to have something special, and he loved how funny she was. I just can't believe that he kissed her. That was surprise, but they were cute together. He's even a blooger, just like Sofia! I know that Sofia is a klutz, but she really should just own up to it, rather than trying to blame things on other people. Although, I did see some hints from the book that Sofia is maturing. She eventually got along great with all her cabinmates, and I could see how much they bonded when they had the ice cream eating contest. I can't believe that Sofia even danced with Jackson, and Nona danced with another boy. (They grow up so fast.) This book was better than I hoped. ;D I recommend it to fans of Rose Cooper.
