My daughter is 5 and loves the Barbie Movies. This is one of the first Barbie books we have read together. The other day we were out at the book store together and she picked this as one of the two books she wanted to get and read. This book is from the latest Barbie movie. It was a fun story and my daughter who is in Sr. Kindergarten was able to read a number of the words herself. The leveled readers are great for children working on developing their reading skills. First off, I realize this isn't fine literature nor is it meant to be. I understand girls love Barbie and Barbie books that is just fine with me...but what is up with the names? I doubt I pronounced Merliah, or Calissa or Eris correctly....put maybe girls who have seen the movie will know how to say it but I tripped over my tongue several times. How can a kid read the book if the names are HARD for adults?...okay rant over!

I'm all for a good Barbie book every now and then, but this one makes no sense. At all.
