Little Beaver is feeling scared ... his big front tooth is loose and feels as if it might fall out! How can he be a beaver without his big front tooth?
Worried that he may not even be a beaver at all, Little Beaver heads off in search of his true identity, meeting LOTS of different animals along the way. "Am I a muskrat?" he asks and the Muskrat answers "No" – muskrats eat fish whereas Little Beaver eats bark. Maybe he's a porcupine? Or a woodchuck? In the end, it takes the kind words of Wise Old Beaver for Little Beaver to discover who he truly is and that losing your teeth is simply part and parcel of growing up!

This is one of those children's books that lends itself to many questions, conversations and lessons. The emotions in the story are relatable to adults and kids alike, and demonstrate how to look at oneself soberly. Beautiful art and writing both.

Lovely little story about a beaver with a loose front tooth who is not so sure of his beaver status if he has no front teeth. Lots of learning about other forest animals on his journey.
