I've read one other book by Mr. Forbucks, THE WALKING MAN, and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I had no hesitation in picking this one up. It more than satisfies! Mr. Forbucks describes this book as 'genre-bending', and indeed it is, in the most amusing of ways. Mystery, romance, revenge driven thriller, science fiction, family drama, a smidge of religion - EVEN STEVEN covers them all in a captivating way. The writing is fast-paced and wickedly funny, and the plot twists caught me by surprise and left ...more

What a fun book. Funny, poignant, and unlike anything I've read for a long time. From existential themes to romance to the space-time continuum. And yet the story is fun and easy to follow with colorful characters. This is the second book I've read by this author (the first was 'The Walking Man'), and I enjoy his breezy, humorous style. A great read if you're looking for something different. ...more

Original and engaging. Great characters. The title is from the character Steven who starts out as a revenge artist, a.k.a. getting even. Everything gets evened out by the end, not in vengeance, but in balance. I like it.

Awesome book. Intelligent, humorous and outlandish. Not only is this a completely original (and fantastic) story, but the author does an excellent job developing the characters and making them come alive in your mind. I can't wait to read more by this author. ...more

This was an unusual yet enthralling novel. The characters were so very unique and the story bizarre yet interesting. The ending was not what I expected. It was not what I usually read but I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. Four Stars.
