I just finished reading all three of these books in the Temperance Brennan series. As a Canadian it is fun for me to read a novel that includes Montreal. I have only ever made it as far as Quebec, however the "canadianisms" that the author includes I find to be fun little quirks for us Canucks to recognize and enjoy. With that aside I am truly enjoying the pace of these novels and the twists and turns that make the mystery enjoyable but do not completely spoil the reader's ability to perhaps sle ...more

I’m pretty late to the game, I’ve never watched the TV show Bones or picked up the Temperance Brennan series so I came in to this audio collection not knowing what to expect. (Since starting the books I have started to watch the TV show) I don’t do a lot of audio books because sometimes I do like to flip back some pages for reminders and clarification which can be almost impossible to do with an audio book. Overall I really enjoyed starting this series with the audio. A big reason for that is be ...more

Three abridged novels totaling 14.5 hours. We listened to them back-to-back and each one made me want to get back in the car in order to find out what happened next. I've only just begun to read/listen to Tempe Brennan mysteries but so far none have disappointed!

Such a good set of books! I was suprised that there was enough emotional content in the stories to keep them intriguing - overall, a fair mix of the technical and dramatic. However, I can tell that this series is likely to overdo it on how many times the main character, Temperance Brennan, is forced into violent situations. Also, there are too many situations where her family/friends happen to be involved in something relates to the murders Brennan is investigating - or they end up being threate ...more

So far ,I have listened to Death du Jour and am prensently listening to De'ja` Death. The heroinne is a former Archaeologist now working in N.C. and Quebec as a forensic anthropologist for the police depts. Lots of mystery and suspense revolving around discovered corpses in varying stages of putrefaction. It's better than it sounds. The manditory love interest is there but with a twist.
I finished the last CD this weekend 2 May . I happened to listen to them out of order but it only affected the s

These books are the basis for the TV series Bones. These books are the first three in the Temperance Brennan series. Unlike the TV series, Tempe is a divorced, on-the-wagon alcoholic, with a college-age daughter. She splits her time between North Carolina and Montroyal.

She almost reminds me of Anna Pigeon from the Nevada Barr series. She sometimes strikes out on her own, and doesn't always do the right thing.

The books are fun to read. These unfortunately were abridged, but I am looking forward t

Temperance Brennon, forensic anthropologist, very different character from the television series.

I read these three books a few years back, and enjoyed them this time via audio CD.

In the life of a career woman, Reich weaves together family dynamics (sister, nephew, daughter), love interest (Detective Ryan), and good investigative work to find the story behind murdered victims. There is a bit of history, forensics, risk, suspense...

Recommends it for: Anyone
My best friend wanted this series of books for her Birthday and so when I bought her copies I decided to get myself the audio version. They were great books and the narator does an excellent job. The only dissapointment I had with them is that they were Abridged versions instead of Unabridged.

I love reading about my hometown. The author has a very good understanding of Montreal and its people-francophone and Anglophone. At times the crime writing is a bit too technical and I lose the story. But I do not mind reading Reichs.

Books 2 & 3 were pretty good; not as graphic as #1. Her writing styles bugs a bit, however.

This is just okay so far. Kinda graphic. I miss the hot FBI agent from "Bones." Booth, where are you????

A bit gruesome but interesting. I am listenening to this on tape. I like listening to this surprisingly enough. It makes me want to go out and drive somewhere b/c I don't have a tape player anywhere else.

I only listened to Deja Dead. It was just an ok listen; I might have enjoyed it better if it were the unabridged version.
