Blurb: When Queen Victoria orders Sexton Dukenfield, premiere phantom hunter, to track down England’s missing ghost he stumbles into Ceridwen, a phantom warrior woman of an ancient Celtic tribe. Not only does he find her intriguing as a piece of the puzzle of the missing spirits, but he’s also haunted by her sultry sensuality. Though they both burn with desire, it’s difficult to quench their fiery passion since Ceridwen is so translucent. Every time Sexton touches her, his hands pass through her ...more

[I received a copy of [book:To Love A London Ghost|12833834] through a Goodreads giveaway.]

I'm going to be honest here, but I have conflicting opinions about this novel. On one hand, it has a good enough structure that would successfully create an interesting story line. However, on the other hand, the way that the author approached this novel was something that definitely left a sore taste in my mouth. There was far too many romance scenes that seemed to have happened at random moments. What I

I love to read the fun genre of Steampunk and Maeve Alpin hits all the right notes. The Victorian age and characters, the clockwork machines and a sexy ghost make for a very entertaining story. I really like the main characters: phantasm exorcist Sexton Dukenfield, Celtic phantom warrior woman Ceridwen, penniless waif Kate and the housekeeper who keeps them fed and going. On orders of the Queen, Sexton and his group search for England's missing ghosts and have to battle greedy factory owners. It ...more

I loved this book, especially the wits and banters from the main character Sexton Dukenfield.
He hides his true self behind a facade of irony and sarcasms, but he is so much more.
He is a self made man, he was able to raise himself to his actual position by fighting his way in society from nothing, he knows he is no Gentry, he uses the image he gives to others to hide his damaged soul.
He made me smile a lot, taking no b^llsh1t from the others, always quick to scratch the too polished skin of the w

Maeve Alpin loves reading and writing about ancient times. It’s only natural that she loves alternative history such as Steampunk just as much. She had a lot of fun combining the prim and proper, frill and lace of Victorian age with the technologically advanced phantasm debilitater machine along with a brave, free living, ancient Celtic warrior woman and a gruff ghost hunter.
