Rating before even finishing the essays and conversation reading because my jaw was on the ground from the second it was in my hands. So much incredible, profound, innovative, and deeply moving work in here. So many artists I am learning about too! Jeffrey Gibson’s vision for putting this important group of works, ideas, and artistic voices together is absolutely brilliant. A must have for any contemporary art book library and undoubtedly going to be a classic publication.

Wonderful art book. Must weigh 10 lbs. Great essays make up maybe 50 pages of the book. Hard to read on the shiny the paper, but worth the effort. Especially taken by the Philip Deloria piece on Sioux traveler Charging Elk's encounter with Walter Benjamin. Be sure to read the footnotes. (Magnifying glass not provided.)
Would love to have the essays available as a more legible pdf.
