genre: Nonfiction (informational); grades: k-3. It was an interesting book, and I liked that it compared moths and butterflies. It is a good book to teach kids about the difference, because they don't necessarily always understand that they are different. I think it would be a great book for any child who loves learning about bugs and animals and such.

In the preschool room we have a science center and Butterflies and Moths is one of the books that is beyond our preschoolers reading ability but it has great illustrations of several Butterflies and Moths we see around our playground so we use it for a reference book. It is a non-fiction book that gives us information about insects we find in our area and helps the children to see how to use a reference book to apply it to a real situation as they identify a butterfly.
