This is a short and sweet history of New York's railroad tunnels, from roughly 1900 to 1970. It covers in detail the history, design, and operation of the Hudson and Manhattan Railroad (now PATH), the Pennsylvania Railroad tunnels to New Jersey and Long Island, and the interrelations between the two systems.
