I read this in preparation for two things: The Turrell show at LACMA, and the LA Museum of Neon Art's "Neon Cruise" from LA to Vegas. I knew a decent amount about Turrell before picking this up, but nothing about any of the other artists in the Phenomenal show, and the pictures of the works in this catalogue made my head pop off and completely changed my opinions about what minimal and conceptual art should look like.
