Recommends it for: mystery lovers, Texas residents, South Padre Island visitors
Having read a lot of Agatha Christie in my youth, I am rarely surprised by a mystery novel. So you can imagine my surprise when I was shocked not once, but twice in this book. The author was able to maintain my curiosity and the sense of suspense through out the story! If you like intelligent thrillers, this is a good choice

WOW! So Johnny and Angela (who met in the first book, and I have GOT to go get that one now!)are on a secret mission, direct from the president! Find out who the traitor is, where the missing bomb is, oh, and try not to let the guy who knows how to set off the bomb anywhere near it! Trust no one!

The book has so many twists and turns. Just when you think you have it figured out, another twist comes up. Kept me on the edge of my seat!!! We have political intrigue, long held grudges, and just enoug

Thank you to Mr. Harry (and goodreads, or course) for this thriller; it was fantastic! I read it in two session because I simply couldn't put it down! I would've have read it in a single session but for the fact that it was already 2 in the afternoon and I figured I should probably get out of bed and get dressed. The dogs were very unhappy with me. But seriously, a really good read for anyone who likes their thrillers twisty, fast-paced, paranoid and full of page-turning conspiratorial red herri ...more

I really enjoyed this book. For me it started slow but after the first hundred pages it really starts to heat up. This book has many twist and turns. It is very cleaver and makes you think almost every major character is the predator. This book is also very topical, with different governmental intrigue. Once you started reading this you will race to the end to see if who you think is the "bad guy" is one. Highly recommended if you like mysteries or spy novels.

Thank you Mr. Harry for the great book. I love the two main characters and how they interacted with each other. I was anxious to get to the end to see how it all turned out. I have never been to South Padre Island, but it sounds like a fun place. This book was packed full of action. Never a dull moment.

I have gone back and read the first book in this series now. While I still say the books can be read as stand alone novels,I would definitely recommended reading them in order. It will only increase your enjoyment of the overall story that begins in the first novel and is concluded in this novel.

Jimmy Redstone is almost healed from his injuries that he received in The Padre Puzzle when he and Angela are summoned to a secret meeting with the President at the White House. He wants Jimmy and Angela t

"The Padre Predator" by David Harry Thank you to Mr. David Harry and Goodreads for the book! A suspenseful thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat! The plot is very intense and believable! The characters were well developed and likable! It really makes you think if our government is as crooked as the author says it is in "The Padre Predator" we are in big trouble! At times "The Padre Predator" was a little difficult for me. I need to read the first book "Padre Puzzle" and the reread ...more

This is a fast-paced story with good characterization and a definite voice of the protagonist. The plot can stand alone, but I got confused a bit because I hadn't read the previous book. All in all, I think it could've been improved with tighter editing. But I did learn about South Padre Island and it sounds lovely.

“Is this Jimmy Redstone?” the male voice at the other end of the line inquired.

I couldn’t identify the voice. I didn’t recognize the number and the used car salesman tone didn’t do anything to reduce my annoyance at being interrupted during breakfast. “Who the hell you think would be answering his phone?” I snarled.”
