Something is very wrong. Something is in Tiny Mouse's old cradle, next to Father and Mother's bed. Something is a new baby mouse! Everybody thinks it is very special - everybody except Tiny Mouse.

A very cute picture book about Tiny Mouse, who is unsettled and jealous at the appearance of a new little baby sister. Life has changed - he has a new bed in Brother and Sister's room and nobody seems to have time to help Tiny Mouse any more. But when he shows how he feels, he realises his family loves him - and he is now big enough to do some things for himself. He is a big Brother. But he still fits just right in Mother's lap.
Lovely illustrations and a book that also captures the emotions of childhood so well.
Even though this is a really old book, it is still so relevant to most children's lives. It is a beautiful way to touch on family issues such as jealousy and loneliness. The tiny mouse is suddenly not the baby anymore. All of the mothers, fathers and older siblings attention is on the new born baby! He gets upset as no one is there to help him get dressed or make his breakfast. He gets extremely jealous of the baby...how familiar does that sound!? He eventually realises he is big enough now to do all of those things himself and that he is a BIG brother now. As a big brother, he is old enough now to be a bit more independent but his family still love him and he fits in perfectly for a hug! This is a very real issue for many children but has been discussed in a child-friendly manor with cute little mice. The illustrations are fantastic and even though they are pictures of mice, their facial expressions are extremely real. I actually felt really upset for the tiny mouse when I saw his whiskers drooped and his eyes big and sad! This is the best book to use for children that have got new baby siblings coming!
