This is one of my favourites from my childhood, may be one of very few I read, before I reached 8.

Prof. J.B. Disanayaka has done a good work in putting it into English. I wonder children today even know of these folktales which now seems to be forgotten. "Once Upon a time" series give an opportunity for these youngsters to learn about familiar characters who now seem to have completely disappeared.

Love this collection of singhala folks by Prof.J.B Disanayaka. I was searching for books to gift the younger invitees on my son's birthday and found this amazing collection. My one year old loves the pictures and wants me to read it to him for the past few days. Im so in love with this collection. The way these stories have been retold is simply amazing and the illustartions are picture perfect for little ones attention. Im to buy the entire collection for my son and cant wait to get them...
