This book had good solid advice in it. The testimonials really got on my nerve, though, as they were just fawning over the author for the most part.

I do like that half of the book deals with the emotional and mental aspects of losing weight, which is 90% of the battle.

His food program is designed to take choice out of the equation and if you want to follow a very limited menu, then it would work for you.

This book had so much potential. Much of his information is great. But...there was too much fawning over the author. He had quote after quote, story after story of his fans telling the reader how awesome Charles is. Now, I'm sure Charles did help people and I'm sure his program has been successful, but after reading the umpteenth person tell me how great and wonderful Charles is, I had to put the book down. Gag me, as my kids would say. Get over yourself, as I would say. ...more

I'm at the end of the 3rd week on my first 12 week run of the plan in this book. I liked reading about the authors struggles because it let me know I'm not alone and it have me hope that I can do it too. I could have done without all the testimonials though, there were waaaay too many. Overall it's a great book. It's perfect for someone who does well with planned out, structured lifestyle changes. ...more

Charles D 'Angelo has credibility, because he has lived as a "fat kid" and successfully become a healthy, thin adult. Based on the testimonials included in the book he has obviously helped many people achieve their goals as well. I would love to meet him and get his help, too. The information he provides in the book is solid and I am convinced that anyone following his plan would be successful. (I'm just not sure I could do it alone.) Sad, isn't it? ...more
