This story was pretty interesting, but I found it a bit too short for my liking. As with the other stories set in this universe, there were lots of graphic descriptions of violence and sex. I slipped quite quickly and easily into the setting, with only a little confusion as I tried to remember all of the different terminologies.

Paul’s publishing history includes a short story in Dark Horizons, (The British Fantasy Society’s fiction magazine) about a farm that bred humans for meat. More recently a story of his was featured in issue 13 of Murky Depths magazine. This joyful piece was a satire on euthanasia entitled Do Not Resuscitate.
