This was the most powerful, the most insightful and outstanding book I have ever read. Anna's genius is one thing, but her way of creating a transcendental fusion, as a direct means to combine and connect with great effect, both art and nature together into a journey of humility and inner strength; only for one to reach its fuller light, is something worth embracing.

An interesting children's story that weaves in some fairytale elements and legends of the Faerie folk. Emerine is lost and alone after the people he thought to be his parents are killed by strange shadows. Left to find his own way to the mysterious Red Forest, he must first overcome his own self-doubt and fears. During his dangerous journey, he learns not all forces are good, and that he is more than he first appeared.

I thought this was a great tale to teach children to reach for the strength a
