This is not a review of the paperback reprint. I have no idea what that book looks like. For Father's Day one year, my wife and kids gave me a hardcover copy published in May of 1919. The Howard Pyle plates inside perfectly complement Twain's adoring biography of St. Joan. The book itself is a joy to behold, one of my meager collection's gems. It is a beautiful example of the height of the bookmaker's art in the United States.
