This was more about knitting than crochet and I picked it up for the crochet. :-( There were a few stitches that I would like to practice but other than that it was really simple lessons that I already knew. There were only two crochet patterns (both scarves) but numerous knitting patterns. So, read this if you want to learn to knit...
Useful for learning the stitches because of all the pictures. The book is 2/3 knitting and the crocheting part seems sort of tacked on the end though. I would have preferred them to be two separate books. Patterns are quite "old" looking and not things I would want to make or wear.
Good pictures. Covers very basics. Gives both left and right hand methods of basic stitches. Is a good reference but as I am trying to learn to knit, it isn't enough help on its own. Also makes no mention of combination method knitting.
