In this modern version of the fairy tale classic, although her dreams are filled with sensual imagery, and she’s often awakened with a throbbing sense of release, Rose has never had a sexual climax—at least, not while conscious. When she’s forced to confess her faked orgasms to her fiancé on the eve of their wedding, she finds herself alone, abandoned and suicidal—until he ...more

The story itself was not really a bad story. It was just way too far from the classic and most of all the readers are left speculating at the end. The HEA was not really clear. I don’t really think that the story itself had anything to do with briar rose. So I guess readers should be careful when they read the book and not to expect too much in thinking the book would resembles Sleeping Beauty.

I have discovered that I don't like doctor/ patient romances! I can read all sorts of taboo and inappropriate erotica (and have) but I just DON'T enjoy ones about doctor's and patients. Ewwww. I feel creeped out about a sex doctor getting it on with his patient. The idea that he is down there checking out your bits to make sure you are in working order and getting turned on by that is just yuck! I'm like, cringing all over this one.
So needless to say, I did not like either of the characters (a c

About a week ago (Oct 9th 2015) I found “Modern Wicked Fairy Tales: Complete Collection “ from Selena Kitt as a Freebie on Amazon. I have 2 children and I still like to read or watch fairy tales with my children. I was curious about this bundle with a naughty version of them.

This is it... the third book in this series and it had more story in it than the second book Goldilocks but it's not for me. It didn’t even have a real ending…

I just can't with this one. I just can't.

I don't know if it's that I've had a lot of therapy myself. I don't know if it's the idea of a doctor being excited while giving you a pelvic exam. Perhaps it's seeing a psychiatrist* so completely and utterly fail at maintaining boundaries. Or seeing the heroine's mum invalidate her daughter, even after a suicide attempt. It could be reading about the difficult relationship between the heroine's parents despite many years having passed since their split

This one does not hold a candle to its sisters Beauty and Goldilocks.

First, it was hard to figure out why the heroine was trying to kill herself, and when you get to the root of her problems, I was still confused. Second, the ethical lines crossed in this book are truly unbelievable. Third, the love scenes were ok. Finally, the end just seemed, blah.

P.S. The description of this book has a far better plot than the book itself.

I suggest if you read this one, read it as part of the anthology, and j

This series was one of the first I read to re-introduce myself to the erotica genre. I remember being struck by the fact that each book in this series had a plot that allowed the reader to get involved with the characters. While that statement is true of all the books, some are stronger than others, and I feel that this is one of the weaker ones. Rose has emotionally walled herself off, done so completely that she can no longer feel physical pleasure. To me, that makes Rose extremely weak, espec ...more

This was a quick read. Rose is a young woman who is engaged and the day before her wedding she confesses to her fiance that she has faked every orgasm she has ever had with him. I asked my husband what he would do if I made that same confession...he said he wouldn't care, that is my problem. But Rose's fiance was not as understanding and he left her abruptly. She is so devastated that she tries to kill herself. Her family decides that it is best for her to go to an unconventional retreat in the ...more

I didn't expect much of a story and just wanted to get down to the naughty deets but this threw me back and I kept on reading it. Ms Kitt touched on a problem some women have and turned it into a love story. Rose's character really strengthened after being admitted to a special facility located in an island, which is conducive to relaxation and the treatments aren't mechanical.

The problem isn't just physical but psychological as well and it made sense to me. I like how Rose and Matt's relationsh

Ok i am embarrassed to admit i actually read this book. It was the most disgusting thing I have ever read. It was pure porn with no positives. I just kept reading, hoping it would get better- that there would be some sort of plot- but I was wrong. All it needed was the cheesy porn music and it would have been just like the real thing. It had NOTHING to do with the story that is in the fairy tales- even the scary ones. just total smut.

i'd give it zero stars if possible!

What a horrible problem to have, and for such a horrible reason. It's amazing the things the brain can do. But beyond that, I can't believe her fiance left her! I understand the trust thing and that it was more about how his ego was bruised, but come on!! He was about to vow "in sickness and in health"... what would have happened if she told him the day after the wedding?

But it all worked out because she found Matt. And damn, those were some intensive therapies going on there. :-)

This story was pretty good for a short story. However there wasn't as much hot sex as i was expecting since this was an erotic tale and i wish there had been an epiloge to show what happened six months later. but all in all it was a cute little romance.

Third book was the charm! I liked this interpretation the best out of the one I have read (so far), I guess just because it seemed a little more believable story-wise. I kind of love how short these fairy tales are - good quick reads.

Totally not the Briar Rose I meant to buy (wanted the one by Jane Yolen) that being said trashy erotica makes for a fun rainy Saturday afternoon.
