There were two splashes in London that nightthe first was a body dropping into the Thames with a bullet hole in its head, and the second was tabloid crime hack Max Chard's exclusive story on the killing. But murder is only half the yarn. Meet the lovable, alcohol-soaked, womanizing rogue, Max Chard, in this terrific expose of the world of tabloid journalism.
A really engaging old book which was filled from start to finish, with humour very similar to my own. I really struggled to put it down. The main character Max Chard entertained me immensely with his witty put downs and one liners. I'll be looking out eagerly for any further adventures.
Describes itself as a comedy thriller.....there were little to no examples of either. This book deserves less than a 1-star rating, do NOT spend any time or money on this!
Dull, boring and supremely lazy plot. Starts out nicely, middle is intensely lame and doesn't even look as a novel, more like BBC UK.. still has a bit value because of its bit interesting end!
