The second story here, “The Boy with the Silver Eyes,” I loved. The rest of this was kind of meh.

The three stories and one poem included in this collection were pretty good. My least favorite of the three was actually the title story "Homeward Bound." The other two which are apparently spin off stories from the author's Unicorn Chronicles interested me more even though I've never read the series itself. I've got the feeling that if I were younger I'd probably dive into the Unicorn Chronicles headfirst considering how enjoyable these two were.

This is a collection of 3 short stories and a poem. There were two I really enjoyed and two I didn't.

My ratings for the individual stories:

Homeward Bound: 1/5
Boy with the Silver Eyes: 5/5
The Guardian of Memory: 4/5
Ragged John: 2/5

Magical

As haunting and ethereal as Coville's Unicorn Chronicles, this short story is more than enough to make you believe in the glory of Unicorns and the beauty we each carry inside.
