EN ESTE INFIERNO (Vallejo) corazón apaleado
In this hell (Ginsberg) santidad ulcerada
In der heisigen hölle (Hölderlin) visión escarnecida
Dans cet enfer (Rimbaud) carne pudriente..."
Christopher Rey
Read the new edition on the bus from Ramallah to Abu Dis, finally, after having picked up the book in Mexico City. The occasional nausea of the car ride feels right in relation to the experience of peyote ingestion itself. The poem almost attempts the messianic at times, the Zurita-esque, but it is too indebted to the rock and roll of the Infras.
