I loved this second Xu book as much as the first. Well, maybe even a little more, if that is even possible. While the first volume was special because it revealed the whole idea of Xu and introduced me to Lindo and Turner, this second one was amazing because it captured the spirit of the first, including all the richness of the spiritual world AJ created, and added a lot of depth. I think I enjoyed this sequel even a little more than the first book. It was great seeing Lindo and Turner as an established couple and how much love they shared. I was a bit unnerved about the author’s note indicating how much of this was based on some real life experiences. People like Lindo’s former trainer ought to be shot for putting themselves before the wellbeing of their charges. Thank goodness for the integrity of people like Lindo!

Novella. Starts with continuity fail from vol. 1. Lindo had said there he was versatile (about 40% mark of book 1) and the OPENING scene here is how “he had always been a top” before this. Sloppy, and it’s just a short novella thing. Also, Lindo is broke at the beginning of this one and then he still has savings, but needs to work. Disappointingly sloppy.
