Australian Autopsy: The Gory Details of How England Dissected Australia in the 2010/11 Ashes
English cricket fans will love Jarrod Kimber’s second Ashes book Australian Autopsy. Using his own unique brand of dry humor, this Australian author tells the story of the events of the winter 2010–2011 series and England’s record breaking 3–1 victory in Australia. Kimber travels around his homeland staying in flea–bitten motels, getting whispered at by Cricket Australia officials, and bonding in a beautiful bromance with fellow cricket writer Sam Collins. When his book isn’t chronicling his dreams about Alastair Cook, it is watching England cut deep into the Australian cricket system.

In some ways very entertaining but also quite repetitive and pointlessly crude. The emotions of a long time cricket can come through and it provides an interesting insight into the behind the scenes of the sports journalists following the Ashes

Very entertaining. Rated as a cricket book with a niche audience. Some early typos/errors added to the charm. I'd have liked a few more stats.

Jarod is a very entertaining journnalist who coveres Australia's recent ill fated series loss to England - a record breaking series. The book is from an Australian Fan's perspective and provides a very good insight into what it means to be a true lover of the Australian Cricket Culture. There are several passages that really make the book special - particularaly the chapter about the MCG, a colleseum of a ground where so many important events have taken place and the Pies are a bit special.
As a lover of cricket it is a must read. As an English fan the schadenfreude value is high but it is a really intimate account of how a fan sees his national team - (one who has beaten England since he was old enough to masturbate) absolutely and completely crumble....
My only criticism is that the book only covers 4 of the 5 test matches with Sydney summed up in a brief page and a half. Honestly Jrod - you could have missed the bloody Perth test instead, by all accounts its a bit of a hole anyway!!
Looking forward to more books by this unique talent and enjoy reading his twisted views on cricket with balls dot com.
