It's average. It's a resource book for police officers who are dealing with any kind of personal issues from financial trouble to suicidal thoughts. Some of the chapters include some fun stories of the author's time with NYPD, and there is a lot of Christian philosophy and thought in this book - so bear that in mind if you're considering this as a gift for an officer you know. If the officer's an atheist, they'll be bored quick with it.

The advice in it is common sense and good for officers to hear. Many of it is taught in basic ethics classes at police academies across the nation.

This work is trying to reach police officers on the beat. It contains some sound spiritual and practical advice amplified by tales from the author's 16 years of experience with the New York City Police Department and even more years as a police chaplain. There are a number of resources listed in the appendix for future use.
