Mack Mama gives you a glimpse into her life through her eyes as she saw fit to tell it. Each chapter was a life story told from the beginning of her young life until she had an eye opener. Her struggles were no different than some of ours but throughgoo triumph she managed to overcome obstacles and demons that she had to make peace with. Young, out of control, rebellious and a lost soul, she managed to make out and tell her story. Nice job

Tales Of An Original Bad Girl is an autobiography by Natoka Mackie AKA Mack Mama. It is a very brave account of her life from very humble beginnings with two heroin addicted parents to the successful woman that she is today. Natoka gives a very honest and detailed account of her life and her love for her mother and the ordeals that she had to deal with just to be in her mother's life and the pain that she went through when her mother died when she was only 16. This book is not to glamorize any o ...more

The Bad Choices

In this heart wrenching autobiography will leave you feeling like you just made a new friend. Mack Mama is very candid about the choices she has made in her life. You can tell that she didn't write this to glorify the street life, but to help the lost soul find a way. The message she gives is the decisions you make may haunt you for the rest of life. Just because you may not come from humble beginnings, that does not define who you are. Just because you're from the hood doesn’t m

Turn Around

Natoka "Mack Mama" Williams was born addicted to heroin. Not being removed from the home, she grew up witnessing inappropriate behaviors. She bounced between her mother and godmother. Despite it all, she loved her mother and preferred to be with her. After her mother died, Natoka started to self destruct and her life began a downward spiral.

I had never heard of Mack Mama before reading this book. She has gained my respect for taking readers on such a rollercoaster ride. She could've k

An autobiography.

This book came to my attention after it was submitted to my book club. I had recently been introduced to Mack Mama's blog talk show, but didn't know she was the author of two books.

Growing up with her father in prison and a drug addicted mother whom she loved unconditionally, meant Natoka Williams aka Mack Mama was front and center in all the trappings that is necessary for a drug addict to get to the next high. After her mother passed, a sixteen-year-old Natoka turned to the st

I have a tendency to have unusual things happen to me. I met the author in the Wellington mall. I bought a couple of books for $15. We were Facebook friends and we took a picture together. So THAT is how I know this book. With no idea of who this person is, what the book is about, it was easy for me to have my own opinion about this.

This is her autobiography. I will tell you right now that this is not a happy story. She lost her mother as a teen, been in abusive relationships, been in jail, had

If you really want to know the real Mack Mama, then the Tales of an Original Bad Girl is the place to start. The OBG (Original Bad Girl) puts it all out there for everyone to know. She doesn't sugar coat the story either. She keeps it real, but classy as she takes her readers on a walk down the rocky and most deadly road of her life lessons. She goes out of her way to let children that are growing up like her that they really can beat the odds, reguardless of where they came from. Once you've re ...more

What a story! Lot's of people write autobiographies but it's rare to find one that's actually worth writing and reading. Tales of an OBG is one of those rare books. It only took me a couple short days to finish it because I got so caught up in it. Mack Mama was definitely a VERY bad girl and after reading about all that she's been through I can honestly say I'm proud of her for changing her ways and triumphing through all the negativity to become a success despite the bad hand life dealt her. I ...more

I loved this book. I had the pleasure of being on this authors radio show and she is as down to earth as it gets. The story took you inside of her very troublesome past. There were times that i was very angry when reading this book. I could relate all too well. The things this woman went through just re enforced the fact that the best gems come from the worst weather. If you are a reader and love true stories, this is a must read. Mackmamma also sends you a CD with the book and I thought that wa ...more
