Half the book was a brief history of the development of home gardens in the US, the other half was plant lists. Informative as far as it went. The authors had a couple of writing quirks that got on my nerves, such as using layed instead of laid, and putting a comma at the end of the phrase as well as, which broke up the flow of the sentence. Strunk and White would not have approved.
