The art in early issues is fairly cartoony and uses lots of round shapes, while later issues use a more angular, expressive style.

Volume 3 features:
-More of Benjamin Franklin as an Occultist Crime Boss.
-The Rapture, apparently, took place right after the release of Ghostbusters II, and due to Satan never showing up and God refusing to throw the first punch, it never ended.
-Grittites, a cult that worships "manliness and unnecessary explosions."
-Drywall, a bag-shaped being made of zippers speaks a language that can only be understood by creatures without a soul, such as redheads, robots and lawyers.

4/5 I've needed to read something that felt like drugs for some time.
Well, not actual drugs.
They're usually boring and usually for boring people.
What anti-drug commercials test told us all we'd think drugs were growing up.

Volume 3 of Scud: The Disposable Assassin continues the trend of excellent hyper-violent madcappery that author Rob Schrab sustained through Volume 2, but adds something new: a semblance of a plot.

It's unclear whether Schrab has agrand vision for Scud from the beginning, or if he simply got around to a coherent narrative somewhere along the way, but Solid Gold Bomb introduces two classic crowd-pleasers: romance and impending apocalypse. It accomplishes both of these adequately, though the writing's superficiality is starting to show through the cracks at this stage of the story. The danger of introducing a plot is that you then have to back it up, and suddenly "loose ends" start to look like a problem.

Still, if you enjoyed volumes 1 and 2, this remains a safe bet.

Solid Gold BOMB is the proper title for this very exciting graphic novel. It is basically a collection of about 5 issues bound in one book, but the art is cleaned up and prettied. One of the most original and exciting comics I've ever had the pleasure of reading.
