This is a new concept in audio book entertainment. An entire company of actors, complete with sound effects and music, bring Sarah Baker's story to life so completely you almost believe you are right there, in the bayou, sharing in the adventure. The actor selected to portray Dassas Cormier has a seductive, smooth voice that sets your imagination ablaze. S.H. Very high quality audio book--you feel like you are down there in the Louisiana bayou in the 1920's. Fantastic lead character voice, could listen to him all day. Complex, haunted hero, straightforward mystery plot that keeps you guessing.

I liked this a lot, but did anyone else wonder why Dassas has a slight cajun accent but his brother Alcid does not? Also, when he is narrating he has no accent; ;only in dialogue. I loved the accents, but it did seem odd.

Sarah Baker grew up in New Orleans, the city of music, fun, and food. After a year of college, she dropped out and ran off to Alaska to enjoy a taste of the Wild West pipeline days. Three years later, Sarah returned to the Lower 48 and earned a Master's degree in engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
