Loved this book. Incredible to see how the teachings of 300 years ago relate to today. The reader is reminded often that the instructions are intended for warriors, but the philosophy of Daidoji Yuzan could definitely be applied in other places. Certainly not everything he recommends would be accepted today, but it's interesting to see how someone instructing would-be warriors how to live a good life in times of peace can still offer suggestions for today's mere farmers, craftsmen, and even the lowest of merchants.
