Short Inspirational messages that remind us of the blessing our girlfriends bring into our daily lives. They keep them close to our hearts even when the miles keep us apart. I love the Chicken Soup series and have nearly all of them. If you are feeling alone or a little down look to this series to lift your spirits and to remind us we are never truly alone as we journey through life. A definite 5 out of 5 stars rating.

Don't you just love this wonderful series of books - the Chicken Soup for the Soul series? I find them to be wonderful sources of uplifting stories that provide comfort and encouragement. I find that they also are an excellent gift for certain situations such as the Chicken Soup for the Soul: Grieving and Recovering for friends who have just lost someone. The Chicken Soup for the Girlfriend's Soul is a wonderful addition to this series. As mentioned in the title , the book celebrates those friends who cheer us up, cheer us on and make our life complete.

I have girlfriends that I've known my entire life and some I've known less than a year. The stories in this book celebrate all of these types of friendships. It is inspiring, funny and thoughtful. A great book to remind us all how important our friendships with other women are.

I've read many of the books in the Chicken Soup for the Soul series over the years. Though some of the stories tend to be a bit religious (I'm not), I find the stories in general to be nice and feel-good.

This book was focused on the relationships girlfriends have with each other and the sections included:

* The true meaning of friendship
* Girls just wanna have fun
* Being there for each other
* Special moments
* Unexpected friends
* Overcoming obstacles
* Forever friends

There was a variety of stories ranging from when girls met their BFFs in elementary school, high school and later in life. Some stay friends forever while others drift apart but the effect of their friendship remains with them.

This edition of Chicken Soup for The Soul is all about the power of girlfriends! As you might expect, it has tear-jerking moments. There's also a lot of inspiration, and enough stories it is sure to remind you of one of your own... and call your own gal pal(s) to show appreciation!

Like the subtitle says : Celebrating the Friends Who Cheer Us Up, Cheer Us On and Make Our Lives Complete. So, gather a box of Kleenex and your address book before you embark on this journey!

A daughter, after losing both parents, is adopted and makes a family complete. One woman's team of friends rotating all that needs done after her husband perished on 9/11.

Through Tupperware parties, dinner parties, retirement parties, friendships new or lifelong, girlfriends are a special breed. I guarantee you won't make through all these stories without tears.

This is a book for older readers in middle school or high school. It teaches life lessons about friendship throughout one's life. Particularly, the stories in the book are girl friendships. There are many obstacles that come in the way of friendship and this book speaks about personal friendships. There are stories from the loss of a best friend to the break up with a best friend.

I believe this book is an informational text. It may not be non-fiction, but the stories that are written within the text teach life lessons about the value of friendship. The authors wrote about acts of kindness, memories, and the outcome of an unexpected friendship. All girls should have an idea of what to expect throughout their life and this book helps them connect to their own personal lives.

"Chicken Soup for the Girlfriend's Soul: Celebrating the Friends Who Cheer Us Up, Cheer Us On, And Make Our Lives Complete" by Jack Canfield is a compilation of true stories submitted by real people about times there friends helped them through love or loss. It is very bittersweet, as many of the stories involve sickness and/or death but also getting through sickness or helping other get through it or grief. I would recommend this book to those not afraid to cry, and that love heart-tugging tales.

No matter what age we are, women have usually been fortunate enough to have girlfriends on and off throughout their lives. Some begin in grade school while others come much later, but they all have special place in our heart. I was reminded of the wonderful friends I've had over the years, and if I could only give them back half as much as they had given to me, then I would be doing very well.

I don't know whether it was because of the translation or what, for me some of the stories left question marks in my head (note: i read the indonesian version of it).

However some of the stories is okay, remind me of some of my girlfriends who is always there for me.
